Cleaning & Care
What helps, what hurts, and what makes it last
Long-lasting surfaces come down to a few smart habits. The essentials are simple: choose surface-safe cleaning, avoid what breaks down the finish, and stay consistent with preventative routines.
Whether you chose granite, quartz, porcelain, or natural stone, the result is the same: a space that stays polished, protected, and easy to live with.

The best kind of care is preventative
The easiest way to protect stone is to build a few smart habits into everyday life. With consistent, surface-safe routines, you can prevent most common issues before they start and keep your countertops looking like new for years.
Wipe Spills Promptly
Moisture and acids can leave marks if they sit too long, especially on more porous stone. A quick wipe keeps stains, film, and etching from becoming a bigger issue.
Use Heat Protection
Even durable surfaces can be affected by sudden temperature changes. Trivets and hot pads help protect the finish and prevent unnecessary stress on the stone and protect the integrity of any seams.
Avoid Harsh Products
Many household cleaners are too aggressive for premium surfaces and can dull the finish over time. Stick with pH-neutral cleaning for a result that stays consistent and long-lasting.
Cleaning Recommendations
For Surfaces
Properly cleaning quartz, granite, porcelain, and other natural stone surfaces requires following specific recommendations tailored to each type of surface. We have prepared a comprehensive “How to Care for Your Countertops” guide that covers essential topics such as “Routine Care and Maintenance,” “Preventing Damage,” and “Recommended Cleaners.” Although these guides provide valuable general information, it is highly recommended to consult your specific manufacturer’s instructions whenever available for the best care practices.
Cleaning Recommendations
For Sinks
The best way to avoid stubborn stain build-ups is to clean your sink with a sponge and soapy water after each use. Rinse and dry with a clean, soft cloth to avoid water spots or soap film buildup.
Non-abrasive cleaners such as Bar Keeper’s Friend or Soft Scrub along with a soft scouring pad should remove most stubborn stains with multiple cleanings. (Do not use for daily cleaning.) Use caution not to leave any cleaning product on for long periods of time. Always rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean, soft cloth.
