Mishawaka Food Drive: Supporting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana

As we reflect on what it means to care for our community, we’re choosing to focus on something that directly impacts our neighbors every day: access to reliable, nutritious food. This season, our Mishawaka showroom is supporting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana through a local food drive aimed at helping families in need. The Food Bank plays a vital role in feeding thousands of individuals across the region, ensuring that emergency food is available for those who rely on it during difficult times

By collecting the items they need most, we hope to uplift the people and families who depend on this resource and bring them some peace of mind this holiday season, something everyone deserves.

What We’re Collecting

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana accepts a wide range of non-perishable items, with particular emphasis on nutritious, shelf-stable foods that can directly support the households they serve. According to their guidelines, the following items are among the most helpful donations:

We will be collecting new items, including

  • Canned meats and fish (tuna, chicken, pork, ham, spam)

  • Peanut butter and grape jelly

  • Low-sodium canned vegetables (corn, green beans, mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes)

  • Canned soups, stews, chili, chowders

  • Boxed meals (macaroni & cheese, lasagna, meal helpers)

  • Shelf-stable milk (low-fat or powdered)

  • Canned beans (kidney, red, black, northern)

  • Boxed cereals

  • Healthy snacks (microwave popcorn, granola bars, peanuts, pretzels, pudding packs)

  • Baking staples (cooking oil, sugar, flour, salt)

  • Condiments (ketchup, mustard, vinegar)

A few things to consider: The Food Bank requests no glass jars, if possible. Be sure to check the ‘best by’ date when donating, if it is not something you would feed your own family, please consider buying new items to donate.

Every item collected is sorted and distributed through an extensive partner network to ensure proper products reach the families, individuals, and seniors who depend on these programs.

Drop off location: We’re collecting food donations at our Mishawaka showroom through December 23rd.

Premier Will Match Donations

To amplify the impact of this drive, Premier will match every food donation collected at our Mishawaka showroom. That means your generosity goes twice as far, helping provide even more meals and a sigh of relief to families across northern Indiana.

Matching each donation is just one small way we can stand alongside our community and show support as a business that is fortunate enough to operate in these communities.

Why This Matters

Food insecurity touches far more families and individuals than most of us realize. For many, turning to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana isn’t a choice made lightly, it’s a lifeline during a difficult moment. When someone walks through their doors, they’re met with respect, understanding, and the simple relief of knowing they’ll have something nourishing to bring home.

By contributing to this drive, you’re helping ease a burden that can feel overwhelming. And with every donation matched, we have the opportunity to stretch that support even further for neighbors who could use the help. You’re offering so much more than a side of green beans or your favorite breakfast cereal, you’re gifting comfort, stability, and relief to your neighbors in need.

Join Us in Making a Meaningful Difference

Every donation helps ensure that neighbors in our region have access to the food they need. No one in our community should have to wonder where their next meal will come from, especially during the holidays that should be spent giving thanks and enjoying time with loved ones. By giving what you can, and through our commitment to match every donation, we can offer comfort, stability, and support, an invaluable gift during someone’s hard times.

Thank you for being part of this effort with us. Together, let’s help the Food Bank of Northern Indiana feed hope where it is needed most.
