We’re Proud to Announce our Next Chapter: Employee-Owned!
Matt VanTil, President and Owner, announced that as of Friday, August 30, 2024, Premier Granite & Stone (PGS) has transitioned to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), making our valued 120 employees the new owners of PGS. This is a monumental step in our continued dedication to excellence, unparalleled service, and unmatched quality.
Why transition to an ESOP?
After carefully evaluating succession strategies, Matt and his business partner, Dave Bleyenberg, made the decision to transition the company. “Our mission is to consistently deliver top-quality products with the highest efficiency, all while providing an exceptional experience for our valued customers. Employee ownership safeguards this mission, rewarding the very people who helped us build this successful business.” By shifting to an employee-owned model, Premier Granite & Stone will continue its operations and uphold its legacy, maintaining the high level of service customers have come to rely on. Matt VanTil will remain as company president, with the rest of the management team staying in their current roles.
Matt and Dave founded Premier Granite & Stone in 2008, starting out as the only employees. Now, the company employs 120 people in two locations in West Michigan and Northern Indiana.
What is an ESOP?
An ESOP allows employees to gain ownership interest in the company through shares, giving them a vested interest in the company’s success. This transition aligns with our core belief that our employees are the heart of our business: now, they are also its owners.
What does this mean for PGS customers, partners, and suppliers?
What type of changes are to be expected?
While ownership has shifted, our leadership, values, and dedication to your success remain unchanged. You can expect the same quality and service you have always relied on with the added commitment of an employee-owned business.
Looking to the Future
With this new chapter, we are well-positioned for long-term growth, innovation, and sustainability. We are excited to continue building our future alongside our dedicated employees and valued customers.
We look forward to continuing our journey with you as an employee-owned company, delivering superior quality and exceptional customer service for years to come.
We're still here!
“PGS would not be what it is today without our entire team. Our success has come because many people have been committed to our vision and values. We began with two owners cutting and polishing sinks by hand, but today we are 120 strong, striving for the same exceptional customer service.”
